Welcome and Thank You for visiting the Website of the
  Mount Dora Police Department

Mount Dora is a beautiful, vibrant town with a diverse, cohesive population of over 9,000 permanent and several thousand "seasonal" residents located approx. 25 miles northwest of Orlando. Mount Dora is situated right on Lake Dora at one of the highest elevations in the State of Florida with rolling hills, well kept neighborhoods, and a beautiful downtown comprised of numerous shops and restaurants. The Mount Dora Police Department has a sworn staff of 32 police officers and 17 civilian employees consisting of police dispatchers, records and evidence clerks, staff assistants, animal control officers, and school crossing guards. We take great pride in being an agency that practices "Community Oriented Policing" and works hard to live up to our mission statement: "The Mount Dora Police Department is dedicated to ensuring that Mount Dora remains a safe city by aggressively fighting crime and working to maintain a livable community". I would invite you to visit our beautiful town, in person, at your earliest opportunity. I hope you find our website informative and interesting.
